A: The website migration service offered by AfterHost is completely free and involves transferring all your website files, databases and e–mails from your current hosting provider to your new hosting account with us. We’ll also revise all the settings needed for your websites to be completely functional on our avant–garde cloud hosting platform.Our techs are fully capable of moving any kind of web site. With years of experience behind their backs, they’re experts in the specificities of our cloud hosting platform, our Control Panel and all other famous Control Panels. For them, moving a custom application with plenty of custom libraries is as elementary as transferring a simple WordPress weblog.

A: We strive to perform all website migrations as fast as possible. Still, we do not have a fixed time frame for web site migrations. There are several things that you have to take into account – the mere size of your web site and the workload of our website migration team, etc. We constantly try to carry out each migration in less than 48 hours. With less sizeable websites, our staff usually manages to finish within 24 hours.

A: We do not require any information that is private. We’ll require, however, the login info for your old hosting account and the name of the web site that you would like to transfer.

After that, we’ll explain to you how to move the domain over to your web hosting account with us and how to edit the DNS settings.

A: Nah. We’ll never contact your hosting provider about anything at all. They won’t be aware of the website migration either.

A: We support all Linux–based web hosting platforms. In essence, if we can receive access to your Control Panel, we’ll be able to transfer your web site.The only platforms that we don’t support are closed–source web site creation platforms like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
